Preparing for Allergy Season
Allergy season is fast approaching and soon you will be dealing with itchy eyes, runny noses and sneezing. Antihistamines are your main approach to dealing with allergy symptoms, but are only somewhat effective. They can dry out your mouth and nose and make you groggy. Try adding a new approach by redirecting the underlying immune response along with treating the symptoms.
Allergies happen when your immune system launches a major attack on harmless pollens or other allergens. The immune response develops slowly with repeated exposures to the allergen. The first time the allergen is present, an immune process called a Th2 response generates IgE antibodies. The IgE then sticks to cells that contain granules (mast cells and basophils). Now the stage is set. The next time the allergen is around, it binds to IgE on the cells, causing a shower of granules to discharge from the cell. The granules contain histamine and other chemicals that cause allergic symptoms and inflammation.
Allerg-Ease is a product that simultaneously targets many aspects of the overzealous immune response. It is a blend of five natural ingredients used in traditional Asian medicine. Now modern science has been confirming the important allergy-fighting qualities of these ingredients.
- Suan zao ren (zizyphus) limits Th2 responses.1 It also has antihistamine activity.2
- Gan Cao (licorice) reduces Th2 responses3,4 and inhibits IgE production.5,6 It reduces granule release and limits scratching behavior.6 It is also an anti-inflammatory.7
- Ren shen (ginseng) reduces Th2 responses.8-10 It reduces release of histamine granules 11,12 and has antihistamine activity.13 It decreases the number of mast cells in allergen-sensitized tissue14 and is an anti-inflammatory.12,15,16
- Bai Gao (ginko biloba) inhibits degranulation.17 It decreases mast cell numbers in allergen-sensitized tissue18 and relaxes smooth muscles.19 It limits inflammation by inhibiting COX-2 and LO-5 enzymes.17
- Wu mei (mume fruit) is an anti-inflammatory.20-22

For best results, take Allerg-Ease as directed to intervene at the earliest possible stages of the immune response, preferable before the allergy season begins. The ingredients in Allerg-Ease can limit the Th2 responses and IgE production. They can also reduce the discharge of granules, even if the granules are released, they can counter the histamine effects and the resulting inflammation.
